Monika Hermann

Monika is passionate about supporting clients through some of the most emotionally challenging periods of their lives. She understands that separation and family law matters can feel overwhelming, particularly where children, finances, and complex family dynamics are involved, and is committed to helping clients navigate these situations with compassion, clarity, and confidence.

Monika advises across the full range of family law matters, assisting clients through negotiation, alternative dispute resolution, and proceedings in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. Monika enjoys working with clients on complex property settlements, high-risk parenting matters, rebuilding parent–child relationships, and achieving practical, child-focused outcomes that support long-term wellbeing. She also assists clients in family violence matters, with a particular interest in coercive control and less visible forms of abuse, and is committed to advocating for outcomes that promote safety, stability, and empowerment.

Empathetic and approachable, Monika takes the time to genuinely listen and understand each client’s unique circumstances. She is collaborative, resolution-focused, and values interest-based dispute resolution, helping clients identify practical solutions that minimise conflict while protecting their future.

With experience in both commercial and family law, Monika brings a holistic perspective and is passionate about empowering clients through education and improved financial literacy. She also volunteers at the Peninsula Community Legal Centre to support people experiencing relationship breakdown, reflecting her commitment to access to justice.

Monika is currently completing a Master of Laws (Applied Family Law) and is committed to ongoing professional development. She has recently been named a finalist for the 2026 Lawyers Weekly Regional/Suburban Lawyer of the Year Award, recognising her commitment to excellence in family law practice. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her children, being in nature, and exploring art, music, film, and reading memoirs.
